Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, practical answers regarding cap sizing, nationwide delivery, Cash on Delivery, wool care, and our 4-question authenticity standard.
1. Ordering
How do I place an order for ready-to-ship vs. made-to-order pieces?
Ready-to-ship items (such as Gilgiti caps, shawls, and mufflers) can be placed directly online using Cash on Delivery (COD) or card checkout. Made-to-order pieces (such as bespoke choghas and bridal ensembles) require taking measurements and confirming your order with a 50% advance deposit via Bank Transfer, Easypaisa, or JazzCash.
How will I receive my order confirmation and tracking details?
Once your order is placed, you will receive an instant on-screen confirmation with an order number (e.g. #RG-1048). As soon as our workshop completes the 7-point pre-dispatch quality check and hands your parcel to Leopards or TCS, you will receive a direct WhatsApp and SMS notification with a live courier tracking link.
Can I edit my delivery address or phone number after ordering?
Yes, provided the package has not yet been collected by the courier. Simply message our WhatsApp support desk with your order number and updated address details within 3 hours of order placement.
2. Sizing & Fit
How do I measure my head circumference for a Gilgiti or Balti cap?
Wrap a flexible tailor’s tape measure around your head approximately 1 cm above your eyebrows and ears, keeping the tape level and comfortably snug without tension. Match your measurement: Small: 54–55 cm, Medium: 56–57 cm, Large: 58–59 cm, Extra Large: 60–61 cm.
How do I choose the right chest size for a traditional wool waistcoat?
Measure around the fullest part of your chest while wearing a standard kameez or shirt. Our traditional waistcoats are tailored with a built-in 4 cm (1.5 in) comfort ease so you can comfortably move, sit, and layer without pulling on the front buttons.
What if I do not own a flexible tailor's measuring tape?
Use a phone charging cable, string, or piece of ribbon. Wrap it level around your forehead, mark where the ends meet with a pen, and lay it flat against a standard 30 cm ruler or use a 1000 PKR banknote (which measures exactly 13.2 cm in length) to calculate your head circumference.
3. Delivery & Dispatch
How long does delivery take across different cities in Pakistan?
Ready-to-ship pieces dispatch within 1–2 working days. Estimated delivery transit times: Islamabad and Rawalpindi: 2–3 working days; Lahore, Faisalabad, and Peshawar: 3–4 working days; Karachi, Multan, and Quetta: 4–5 working days. Remote northern tehsils may take 5–7 days depending on seasonal road conditions.
What are your shipping charges and free delivery threshold?
We offer flat-rate standard tracked shipping of PKR 250 across Pakistan. All orders of PKR 5,000 or more qualify for complimentary free tracked delivery.
Which courier services do you use and are parcels tracked?
All orders are dispatched via verified national courier services, primarily Leopards Courier, TCS, and Pakistan Post Express Mail. Every consignment has a verifiable tracking code so you can follow its transit step-by-step.
4. Payments
Is Cash on Delivery (COD) available across Pakistan?
Yes! Cash on Delivery is available for all ready-to-ship catalogue items delivered to any city, town, or postal zone served by our courier network in Pakistan.
What payment methods are supported for custom and made-to-order garments?
Bespoke and made-to-measure orders require a 50% advance deposit via direct Online Bank Transfer (IBFT), Easypaisa, or JazzCash to cover dedicated wool procurement and tailor reservation. The balance is payable upon dispatch or via COD.
Is this website currently processing live payments?
Card payments are coming soon. Cash on Delivery and bank or mobile-wallet transfers are available according to the payment options shown at checkout.
5. Exchanges & Returns
What is your 7-day size exchange policy?
If a ready-to-ship cap or waistcoat does not fit comfortably, you may request an exchange for an alternate size within 7 calendar days of receiving your parcel. The piece must remain unworn, unwashed, and in its original presentation box with the Origin Card intact.
How do I initiate a size exchange?
Message our WhatsApp customer desk with your order number and your exact tape measurement. Our sizing specialist will reserve the replacement size and guide you through returning the parcel to our Islamabad fulfillment point.
Can made-to-measure or custom-embroidered items be returned?
Because made-to-measure garments (such as bridal choghas and bespoke festive waistcoats) are crafted to individual client proportions, they cannot be returned for a cash refund. However, if there is a tailoring deviation from your confirmed measurements, our tailor will alter the piece free of charge.
6. Custom & Wedding Wear
How far in advance should I book custom bridal or groom ensembles?
We strongly advise booking 3 to 5 weeks ahead of your wedding date or cultural event (mehndi, nikah, or walima). Traditional hand-embroidery and loom-woven wool require dedicated artisan hours that cannot be hurried without sacrificing craftsmanship.
Can I choose custom embroidery thread colours or motif combinations?
Yes! For custom festive orders, you can select your preferred silk embroidery thread tones (e.g. antique gold, pomegranate red, mountain emerald) and request specific traditional border motifs from Hunza or Nagar workshops.
Do you cater to university cultural days and corporate delegations?
Yes. We supply coordinated caps, stoles, and waistcoats for university student cultural events and curated gift sets with bespoke wax-stamped origin cards for institutional delegations. Group orders of 10 or more receive special pricing.
7. Care & Maintenance
How do I clean and brush my hand-woven sheep wool cap or waistcoat?
Brush gently in the direction of the weave using a soft natural-bristle clothes brush to remove dust. For minor spots, spot-clean with cold water and mild wool detergent. Never submerge, rub vigorously, or machine wash genuine pattu wool, as agitation and warm water cause permanent felting and shrinkage.
Will my wool garment shrink if worn in rain or mountain mist?
Dense mountain sheep wool naturally repels light moisture and mist due to natural lanolin. If caught in rain, gently shake off surface droplets, reshape the garment with your hands, and lay it flat on a clean dry towel in a shaded, well-ventilated space. Never wring or hang wet wool.
How should I store pure wool textiles during summer months?
Ensure pieces are thoroughly dry and brushed. Store in breathable cotton garment bags or our presentation boxes with natural cedar wood blocks or dried neem leaves. Avoid sealed plastic bags which trap residual humidity, and keep away from direct sunlight.
8. Authenticity & Ethics
What does the ReGongches 4-Question Promise guarantee?
Every product page answers four questions: Who made it (artisan or cluster), Where it is from (district origin), What it is made of (honest material breakdown), and What it means (cultural context reviewed by regional experts).
Do you use real bird feathers on the Groom's Gilgiti Cap with Plume?
No. We strictly adhere to wildlife preservation ethics. We never use feathers of protected birds (such as monal pheasants or falcons). All ceremonial plumes are crafted from fine synthetic materials, ensuring wildlife is protected while honouring wedding customs.
How are mountain craftspeople compensated for their work?
Makers receive fair direct piece-rate compensation negotiated transparently with their workshops or cooperatives [placeholder: founder to confirm exact cooperative payment model], eliminating predatory middleman markups and supporting family livelihood across northern valleys.
